|"Man cannot have the courage to discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore"
Jay Morton recently realised a teenage dream of taking to Scotland on two wheels to discover paths unknown.
Jay and his friend Tom, who met during their time in the Special Forces, travelled from Glasgow to The Old Man of Storr on the Isle of Skye, exploring winding roads, gravel tracks, beaches and more, taking on the journey with a Ducati Multistrada V4 S and a DesertX.
The five-day adventure saw the duo undeterred by the tail-end of Hurricane Ian and the strong winds and heavy rain it brought, with the weather clearing as the two riders made their way north.
A ferry crossing to Tarbert marked Jay's first visit to the Outer Hebrides, before they headed down towards South Uist and its series of causeways, stopping at the Island of Eriskay before once again heading back North and ultimately onto the dramatic pinnacle of rock on the Trotternish Ridge known as the 'Old Man'.
This trip was a reminder of the peace of mind that motorcycling can bring, along with the sense of freedom and adventure it offers, succinct with the 'Rule all Roads' and 'Dream Wilder' spirit of both the Multistrada and the DesertX respectively.
"Having the opportunity to travel is a privilege and one I'm grateful for. We're all on a journey. Where will yours take you?"
